Job summary

Stagecoach is offering a career as a Bus Driver Apprentice at our Preston/ Chorley depots. You will earn while you learn, with fully paid training to gain your PCV licence and a Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship.

No prior driving experience required and you’ll join a supportive team. Throughout the apprenticeship you’ll train, study, and progress to become a qualified driver, with weekly shifts across 5 days in a 7 pattern and excellent customer service training to help communities stay

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; fully paid training provided.
• You must be 18+ and hold a UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to work in the UK and DVLA eligibility criteria.
• A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for customer service.

Responsibilities

• Complete industry-leading training to secure your PCV licence and progress within the Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship.
• Drive our bus fleet safely and confidently, delivering reliable journeys for customers.
• Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming journey for passengers.
• Work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Job description

Salary

£15.00 Per hour (Over 34k following completion of training)

Pay rate during training of £15.00 per hour (training will last 6 - 8 weeks)

Annual earnings of £34,812 following completion of training based on 39 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver

Shift patterns of 5 over 7

What do you need to apply?

Our recruitment process is simple; a short application (around 3 - 4 minutes), followed by an interview assessing your experience & behaviours

• You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands or the British overseas territories for the last 3 years OR meet alternative criteria due to funding criteria (can be discussed via application)
