Job summary

Stagecoach offers a pathway to becoming a PCV-licensed bus driver with fully paid training and a Level 2 Apprenticeship. Based at Queens Road Garage in Manchester, you’ll start on training wages and progress to a competitive salary as a qualified driver.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and hold a UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to work in the UK (DVLA requirement: have been in the UK for at least 183 days).

• Willingness to learn and be part of a brilliant team.

Responsibilities

• Complete our industry-leading training to gain a PCV licence followed by CPC training and Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship.
• Drive our fleet safely and confidently, delivering a smooth journey for customers.
• Ensure every customer has a great journey and receives top-notch service.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Create a welcoming environment where customers feel respected, cared for and supported.

Job description

Salary

Salary £19.06 p/h with valid PCV licence or after 9 months service £15.63 p/h after training (£17.70 Saturday hourly rate, £17.70 Sunday hourly Rate) £13.37 p/h in training

Your new career starts here at Stagecoach, no experience needed. Earn while you learn, we provide fully paid training to help you gain your PCV licence and enhancing your learning through a Level 2 Apprenticeship Qualification.

Based at our Queens Road Garage, located at Cheetham Hill, Manchester.

Pay rate during training of £13.37 per hour (training will last 6 – 8 weeks).

Annual earnings of £35000 following completion of training based on 38 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver.

Shift patterns of 5 days over 7.

What will you be doing?

• Completing our industry leading training, securing your PCV licence followed by ongoing CPC training and professional development which form part of gaining your Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship
• Driving our fantastic fleet safely, smoothly with confidence
• Making sure every single customer has a great journey
• Delivering top-notch customer service, helping people of all ages and backgrounds
• Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel respected, cared for, and looked after, especially those who rely on us most
• Working flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

What you need to apply
