Job summary

Arriva Kent & Surrey Limited is hiring Bus Drivers at our Green Lane depot. We offer Trainee Driver roles with full paid training to obtain a PCV licence and progression into experienced driver positions.

Pay starts at £15.07 per hour for trainees, rising through the training period with higher rates after 12 months. Shifts are rotating and include early mornings, afternoons, and evenings across 5 out of 7 days.

Qualifications

• Over 18 with at least 12 months of driving experience.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Pass a drug and alcohol test and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with regular passengers and act as a friendly representative for Arriva.
• Drive buses safely and efficiently, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Assist customers and provide clear information on routes and services.

Pay Rates:

Trainee Driver – £15.07 per hour (3 weeks)

After Training (Trainees)

• Monday to Friday - £15.07 per hour (rising to £18.30 after 12 months)
• Saturday & Sunday - £18.84 per hour (Rising to £22.88 per hour after 12 months)
• Bank Holiday - £22.60 (Rising to £27.45 per hour after 12 months)

• Overtime: Flat rate

Shift Patterns:

• 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6-8 weeks in advance so you can plan around shifts.
• Mornings starting from 04:00, Afternoons start from 12:00 and Evenings from 18:00 on a rotational basis.
• We cannot offer fixed early, afternoon or evenings separately.
• Overtime available at request / availability.
