Job summary

Borders Buses in Berwick-upon-Tweed is seeking Trainee Bus Drivers to join our friendly team. You do not need previous bus-driving experience; we provide the training, support and funding to gain your PCV licence and start a rewarding career as a professional Bus Driver.

Based at the Berwick-upon-Tweed depot, you will operate local service buses, deliver safe journeys, handle customer payments where required, and join a local team committed to safety, reliability and great service for residents

Qualifications

• Be aged 18 or over.
• Have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the training and employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely and professionally operate buses on local service routes
• Provide excellent customer service and a safe, comfortable journey for every passenger
• Help customers reach their destinations safely and on time
• Handle cash and card payments accurately and responsibly, where required
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures
• Work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and professionalism
• Represent Borders Buses positively through your driving, appearance and customer care

Working in Berwick-upon-Tweed

Based at our Berwick-upon-Tweed depot, you will help keep communities connected across North Northumberland, the Scottish Borders and beyond.

Once qualified, you will play an important role in helping local residents travel safely and reliably to work, school, appointments, the shops and other destinations.You will be part of a supportive local team in a varied role where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

Once you have successfully completed your training and gained your PCVlicence, you will:

• Safely and professionallyoperatebuses on local service routes

What We’re Looking For

• To be aged 18 or over
• A full UK drivinglicence

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• A professional,dependableand safety-focused approach
• Good customer service and communication skills
• The confidence to work independently
• To live within a reasonable travelling distance of Berwick-upon-Tweed
