Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for brazing following work instructions.
• Assemble components, fixtures and tooling per engineering drawings.
• Load/unload parts into salt bath safely and efficiently.
• Operate salt dip brazing furnaces and related equipment (training provided).
• Monitor temperatures, immersion times and process parameters.
• Maintain traceability and identification of all components.
• Support production schedules to meet delivery requirements.
• Complete basic quality checks and production paperwork.
• Follow COSHH procedures and wear PPE correctly.
• Maintain good housekeeping and report progress to supervisor.

Salary: GBP12.71 - GBP12.71 per hour

Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:45-16:45; Friday 07:45-12:45

Job Purpose

To safely prepare, assemble, salt dip braze, clean and inspect aerospace components in accordance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, process instructions and quality standards, ensuring products meet all regulatory and customer requirements.

About the company

A specialist precision manufacturer supporting aerospace and defence customers, producing complex aluminium assemblies using controlled brazing processes, supported by CNC machining and in‑house inspection/testing.

The role

This is a hands‑on, shop‑floor position. No previous brazing experience is required - full training is provided. The job is physically demanding and involves working with chemicals used in brazing and cleaning processes, so you must be comfortable working to strict safety procedures and wearing PPE.

Key responsibilities (Production)

• Prepare components for the brazing process in accordance with work instructions
• Assemble components, fixtures and tooling to approved engineering drawings
• Load and unload parts into the salt bath safely and efficiently
• Operate salt dip brazing furnaces and associated equipment (training provided)
• Monitor brazing temperatures, immersion times and process parameters
• Ensure correct identification and traceability of all components throughout the process
• Maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements
• Report production progress to the Production Supervisor
• Carry out post‑process cleaning/finishing using approved chemicals and methods
• Complete basic quality checks, measurements and production/traceability paperwork
• Follow COSHH procedures, wear PPE correctly and maintain good housekeeping
• No experience required - willingness to learn and follow instructions/processes precisely
• Physically fit for manual work (standing for long periods, manual handling)
• Able to work safely with chemicals under controlled procedures (COSHH)
• Good attention to detail, reliability and timekeeping
• Any manufacturing/warehouse/metalwork experience
• COSHH/PPE awareness or similar safety training
