MTR Partnership is seeking a proactive Trainee/Assistant Site Manager to support the day-to-day management of a residential development in North Yorkshire. You will coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, and ensure works comply with drawings, specs and building regulations.

Ideal candidates will have construction site experience, a relevant qualification, and CSCS cards (desirable). The role offers a clear path for career progression within a growing housebuilder, with a competitive salary

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a construction site-based role.
• Experience working as an Assistant Site Manager or Trainee Site Manager.
• Good understanding of construction processes, sequencing and subcontractor management.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and quality control procedures.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team.
• Proactive attitude and attention to detail in delivering quality homes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager in day-to-day management of the development.

• Maintain high health and safety standards on site.
• Carry out regular quality inspections and address defects promptly.

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of a residential development, ensuring construction activities are completed safely, on programme and to the highest possible standards.

The Role

• Supporting the Site Manager in the day-to-day management of the development.
• Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring progress against the construction programme.
• Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and building regulations.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the site.
• Carrying out regular quality inspections and ensuring any defects are addressed promptly.
• Monitoring workmanship and ensuring homes are delivered to the required standard.
• Assisting with site paperwork, progress reports and health and safety documentation.
• Supporting the customer care and handover process to ensure a smooth delivery of completed properties.
• Helping to maintain an organised, efficient and professional site environment.

The Candidate

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

• Previous experience in a construction site-based role, ideally within residential housebuilding.
• Experience working as an Assistant Site Manager, Trainee Site Manager or in a similar supervisory position.
• A good understanding of construction processes, sequencing and subcontractor management.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and quality control procedures.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering quality homes.

An appropriate construction qualification and a valid CSCS card are desirable. Additional health and safety qualifications would also be advantageous.
