Job summary

Mitie is seeking a driven Trainee Asbestos Consultant in Bristol for a 40-hour week. You will start by shadowing on site, build asbestos qualifications, and progress toward a full consultant role under the Asbestos Quality and Procedures Manual.

Real Living Wage salary (£28,052.94) is stated. A UK driving licence is required to access sites and perform duties, with comprehensive training and development throughout the programme.

Qualifications

• Will be trained and given the opportunity to gain the P402, P403 and P404 certificates as applicable.
• Training will follow the programmes set out in the Asbestos Quality and Procedures Manual.
• Salary will be Real Living Wage.

Responsibilities

• Developing relevant site experience, first through shadowing activities, and then by acting as a second person on site.
• Gaining relevant asbestos qualifications and maintaining skill sets on the asbestos skills matrix.
• Developing experience and eventual sign-off to conduct asbestos surveys, bulk sampling and assessment, statutory reinspection, airborne fibre monitoring, fibre counting and clearance works, as applicable.
• Gaining and maintaining knowledge of all current asbestos, health and safety and CDM regulations whilst ensuring all asbestos-related work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and associated documentation.
• Attending operational team meetings and training courses as required, completing reports to the required standard and timescales, participating in audit programmes, compiling recommendations and carrying out any other duties required to achieve the company's objectives.

We're looking for a Trainee Asbestos Consultant who will develop the necessary skills, experience and qualifications to, over time, carry out specific or the full range of asbestos consultancy services, including all types of survey, supervision of removal contracts, associated clearance work, preparation and technical review of reports.
