Job summary

Egis is recruiting a Trainee Building Surveyor in Edinburgh as part of its Apprenticeship programme. Join a proactive, collaborative practice with a strong client base across the UK, while developing skills in surveying, data capture and design using AutoCAD and Revit.

You will be supported to pursue a Building Surveying degree and Chartered status with the RICS, with opportunities for progression and industry exposure within our Edinburgh team.

Qualifications

• You will need to meet the standard entry requirements of the University degree course, e.g. a minimum of four SQA Highers at Grade BBCC (including Maths) plus Nat 5 English at B.
• Alternatively, you will have either a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related discipline plus suitable academic qualifications or a Modern Apprenticeship/college qualification in a related discipline, or sufficient recognition of prior learning (RPL) through industry-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Supporting our Building Surveying team on general project and survey works.
• Visiting sites and buildings, capturing site data and liaising with senior colleagues to develop survey reports.
• Developing an understanding of AutoCAD and Revit to support with survey and design work.
• Representing the company values at all times, bringing a positive professional manner.
• Being responsible, self-motivated and working well with team members.
• Working towards achieving a Building Surveying degree and subsequently Chartership with the RICS.

The role will include:
