Job summary

Wynnstay Group Plc is seeking a commercially driven Trainee Agricultural Trader to join GrainLink and drive profitable growth across the Lancaster region. You will build relationships with farmers, processors and consumers while trading raw materials and identifying export/import opportunities.

This fast-paced, outward-facing role requires strong commercial acumen, credit discipline and risk awareness, with collaboration across GrainLink offices and Wynnstay divisions to maximise trading

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Experience in administration, logistics, supply chain and/or operations.
• Interest in markets, trading, sales or commercial business.

Responsibilities

• Profitably trade a range of raw materials across the region, building strong local relationships with customers and promoting first-hand sales.
• Lead and develop export/import opportunities in your geographical region.
• Liaise with other GrainLink offices to maximise group trading contributions.
• Communicate trading details to administration and forwarding staff.
• Ensure smooth operation of trading activities with other departments and divisions.
• Prepare reports for line manager and GrainLink Managing Director.
• Assist with compliance and audits including health and safety.
• Monitor credit limits and escalate concerns as needed.
• Inform senior management of any concerns or irregularities.
