Job summary

The Christie in Manchester invites applications for a Trainee ACP in the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Haematology & Oncology team. This Band 8a, permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) delivers cutting-edge care to young people and supports TYA cancer pathways.

You will work across inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory settings, developing advanced clinical assessment and management, including non-medical prescribing, within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Develop towards advanced clinical assessment and management for a diverse TY A oncology/haematology caseload.
• Autonomous and collaborative working across inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Experience in medical and/or oncology settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management for TY A oncology/haematology patients.
• Manage patients with malignancies, including acute care of those receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy.
• Provide expert clinical support across inpatient, day unit and ambulatory services.
• Independently request and interpret investigations, undertake procedures and maintatin clinical records.
• Utilise Non-Medical Prescribing to support timely patient care.
• Contribute to developing TY A oncology/haematology/transplant services.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and AHP teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Act as a visible role model, disseminating evidence-based best practice.
