Job summary

Qualifications

• Structured programme of clinical and academic training within the Critical Care Directorate.
• Fixed term contract basis for a period of 3 years as an apprenticeship/training programme.
• Band 6 training post with progression to Band 7 on successful completion of competencies.

Responsibilities

• Undertake advanced assessment and management of critically ill patients, including history taking and physical examination.
• Develop, implement and review evidence-based treatment plans for admission, stabilization, recovery and discharge.
• Perform advanced clinical procedures such as vascular access and arterial line management.
• Contribute to education, supervision and development of colleagues, students and trainee practitioners.
• Participate in audit, governance, research and quality improvement activities to enhance outcomes.
