Job summary

Armstrong Watson is recruiting for a Level 7 Chartered Pathway Programme Trainee Accountant starting September 2027. You will study towards ACA after completing AAT Levels 3 and 4, gaining fully funded professional qualifications while earning a full salary.

Qualifications

• Entry Requirements: 96 UCAS points from A Levels or equivalent L3 qualifications across max 3 subjects; Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers accepted.
• GCSEs: minimum 7 GCSEs including Maths and English (or 6 National Fives with appropriate subjects).
• Must be at least 18 by 31 August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Study for AAT Levels 3 and 4, then ACA leading to Chartered Accountant status.
• Six-year structured programme with fully funded qualifications and a full salary.
• Work across placements in Business Services and other service lines; learn through mentors and training providers.
• Be placed in one of several regional offices (Glasgow, Carlisle, Newcastle, Leeds or Manchester) as home office after two years.
• Visiting clients on location; potential to drive after initial training period.
