Job summary

Armstrong Watson is recruiting for its Level 7 Chartered Pathway Programme, a six-year trainee accountant track starting in September 2027. You’ll study ACA/ACCA and gain real client experience while earning a salary.

Based in Penrith with placements across regional offices, you’ll learn technical accounting, develop communication and teamwork, and progress toward Level 7 qualification, equivalent to a master’s degree.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 96 UCAS points from A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications across a maximum of three subjects, or from Scottish Highers / Advanced Highers across a maximum of five subjects.
• A minimum of 7 GCSEs or 6 National Fives at Grade 5 (C) or above (or equivalent), including Maths, English and at least one science.
• To be at least 18 years of age by 31 August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Work with real clients during placements across the firm.
• Develop technical knowledge through structured learning and support.
• Progress to Level 7 qualification, equivalent to a Master’s degree, over six years.
• Be placed in one of the regional offices as home base after initial two years.
