Job summary

Unity Resourcing Ltd in Harrogate is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join a growing practice. The role is ideal for someone with some accounts or finance experience who wants to learn and work towards becoming a Chartered Accountant through a fully funded Level 7 Accountancy Apprenticeship.

You will assist with VAT, management accounts, statutory accounts, tax work, and audits while developing bookkeeping skills and maintaining records. AAT qualified or studying toward AAT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Some previous experience within accounts, finance or bookkeeping
• AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, or looking to progress your accounting career
• Eager to continue studying and gain professional qualifications
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Looking for a long-term career within accountancy practice

Responsibilities

• Assisting with VAT returns and quarterly reviews
• Supporting the preparation of management accounts
• Assisting with statutory accounts preparation
• Supporting personal and corporation tax work
• Assisting with audit assignments
• Maintaining accounting records and reconciliations
• Processing bookkeeping transactions
• Responding to client queries and providing support
• Liaising with HMRC and external stakeholders as required
