Qualifications

  • Ideally AAT Level 2 or 3 qualified, looking to apply this qualification.
  • Experience in accounts-based roles is preferred.

We are supporting an established and highly reputable firm to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the team as an Accounts Assistant. JOB TITLE:

Accounts Assistant

(Ideally AAT Level 2 or 3 qualified, looking to apply this qualification to a trainee position, or have some accounts-based experience and be eager to obtain supporting qualifications and build an extensive career)

HOURS:

Monday to Friday - 8.45am - 5.15pm

  • Up to £28,000, dependent on level of qualifications

THE ROLE:

You will be part of a team managing a varied portfolio of non-audit clients across different industry sectors. Delivering excellent client service, both internally and externally, is central to this role, with a focus on providing accounting support and fostering strong client relationships.

KEY DUTIES:
  • Collaborate closely with the Manager, providing daily updates on client work
  • Assist in payroll processing, communicate with clients, and ensure accurate pay runs
  • Support clients with bookkeeping and timely VAT return submissions to HMRC
  • Process client invoices and perform bank reconciliations using cloud-based software
  • Assist with self-assessment tax return preparation
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing and database management
  • Deliver excellent service to all clients
KEY SKILLS:
  • AAT Level 2 or 3 preferred
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Broad accounts/finance experience
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude
  • Reliable, proactive, and motivated
