Unity Resourcing Ltd in Harrogate is seeking a Trainee Accountant to start a long-term accounting career. The role is based in our Harrogate practice, with a fully funded Level 7 Accountancy Apprenticeship and on-the-job training to develop VAT, management accounts, and statutory work.

You will gain exposure to client work, tax tasks, and audits while receiving mentoring and a clear route to becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, or seeking progression in accounting.
• Some accounts/finance experience required.
• Committed to professional qualifications and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist with VAT returns and quarterly reviews.
• Support preparation of management accounts.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation.
• Support personal and corporation tax work.
• Assist with audit assignments.
• Maintain accounting records and reconciliations.
• Process bookkeeping transactions.
• Respond to client queries and provide support.
• Liaise with HMRC and external stakeholders as required.

This role is ideal for someone with some existing accounts or finance experience who is eager to continue learning, develop professionally and work towards becoming a Chartered Accountant through a fully funded Level 7 Accountancy Apprenticeship.

The Role

• Assisting with VAT returns and quarterly reviews
