Job summary

DJH invites applicants for a Trainee Accountant apprenticeship in Hereford. After a structured induction, you will follow a personal development plan to become a qualified accountant, with access to funded training and support throughout the AAT studies.

The role blends learning with hands-on client work in a bustling practice environment. You will join a supportive team, work across a range of clients, and develop technical and people skills in a fast-paced, collaborative setting that values

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths and English at minimum level 5 (grade 5+)
• Maths and English must be grade 6 or above
• On track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above
• Interest in pursuing AAT studies and accounting qualification

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end financial statements for a varied client base
• Calculate corporation and personal tax liabilities; contribute tax planning ideas
• Follow personal development plan; shadow and learn to support AAT studies
• Build long-lasting client relationships and deliver value daily

After a proper induction to the business, a personal development plan will be drawn up for you. It will outline each of the steps you’ll need to take to realise your ambitions and goals of becoming a fully-fledged Accountant. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative, rewarding and you’ll learn loads every day.

Your typical day as a Trainee Accountant will involve:

• Being part of a talented team, adding value to the exceptional work we deliver
• Preparing year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients
• Calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities, whilst coming up with tax planning ideas
• Cracking on with your personal development plan – shadowing, questioning, and learning to help you achieve your ambitions and be victorious in your AAT studies
• Building long-lasting relationships with clients and wowing them daily

• Have an excellent academic background, with 5 GCSEs at a minimum level 5 and above, with a level 6 or above in both Maths and English and on track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above
