Role: Trainee Accountant
Location: Exeter

Overview:
Quinton Davies is working on behalf of an established regional accountancy practice who, due to expansion, are looking for a Trainee Accountant to join their friendly and successful team.

You will join one of two teams that has a broad client base, both of which focus on owner-managed businesses. As a result of this focus, the vast majority of your time will be spent assisting these clients with their various compliance tasks such as VAT returns, accounts, tax returns, etc.

Main responsibilities:

• Preparation of unincorporated & company accounts
• Prepare analysis of accounts
• Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
• Draw up financial reports
• Assist with year-end closings
• Prepare tax computations and returns
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
• Review and process expense reports.

Candidates will need to:

• Demonstrate a strong academic history by having at least 100 UCAS points at A-Level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject matter i.e. economics / maths / business studies etc.
• Be numerate and have good communication skills
• Be self-motivated
• Enjoy the challenge of working with a large variety of clients on wide-ranging types of work.
