Job description

The Thames Valley Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening programme offers community-based ultrasound screening for abdominal aortic aneurysms to an eligible cohort of more than 13,000 men. The target screening population is men in their 65th year.

1. Role Purpose: To undertake the day-to-day operational running of AAA Clinics across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire, with a focus on East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.
2. Main Responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasound scanning in accordance with national standards.
• Reassure and inform men attending the clinics about the screening process and its implications.
• Communicate scan results effectively and ensure proper processing of participant outcomes.
