Job summary

Public Health Wales in Wales is seeking a trainee AAA screener for a part-time Band 4 post. The role involves learning to screen and assess men in community settings and travelling across the North Wales region during training.

The position requires Welsh language ability and a commitment to completing level 4 diploma in AAA screening and level 3 diploma in fundamentals in health screening. Once trained, the post becomes permanent.

Qualifications

• A good standard of general education (5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics with grade C or above).
• NVQ 3 or equivalent in relevant subject.
• Specialist training and short courses to Diploma level.

Responsibilities

• Provide information to men attending the community screening and surveillance clinics.
• Ensure informed consent is obtained before screening.
• Perform an abdominal ultrasound to determine if an aneurysm is present and provide results and advice.
