Job summary

Nottinghamshire Police invites applications for the Detective pathway - Police Constable Entry Programme. This three-year training route develops investigative skills while you serve the local community and contribute to delivering positive outcomes for victims.

You will investigate serious and complex crimes, prepare case files for court, and rotate through placements to progress toward becoming a qualified Detective (PIP1 then PIP2).

Qualifications

• We are looking for people who are great problem solvers, have excellent communications skills, are tenacious, detail oriented and enjoy teamwork.
• Hold 2 A levels or a Level 3 qualification (National Diploma, Level 3 NVQ, Access to Higher Education Diploma).
• Full UK driving licence (manual).
• Must have resided in the UK for at least the last 3 years and meet vetting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Investigate serious and complex cases by gathering evidence, interviewing suspects and managing victims/witnesses.
• Prepare case files and attend court to present evidence.
• Engage with social care, barristers, forensic experts, pathologists and other agencies.
