Northern is seeking a Train Presentation Regional Manager in Leeds to lead the East Region teams and ensure trains are presented to the highest standards. You will balance people, performance and safety while driving continuous improvement across depots and TrainCare Centres.

This role involves budgeting, resource planning and collaborating with unions and third-party partners to deliver a safe, reliable and customer-focused service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Train Presentation Regional Manager

Location: Leeds (covering the East Region)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £45,349.00

As a Train Presentation Regional Manager, you'll lead those teams across the East Region, helping to bring people together, share best practice and create a consistent approach to train presentation. You'll balance people, performance and operational priorities, ensuring our trains are presented to the highest standard while building a culture where colleagues feel supported, engaged and proud of the work they do.

This is a role where you'll make a visible difference every day. You'll lead operational improvements, strengthen relationships across depots and work closely with colleagues, trade unions and third-party partners to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient service.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide leadership across multiple Train Presentation locations, making sure our teams have everything they need to deliver high standards safely and consistently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting Train Presentation teams across your region, creating a culture where safety, quality and teamwork come first.
• Planning people and resources to meet the needs of the train service while responding to changing operational priorities.
• Driving consistent cleaning standards across depots and TrainCare Centres, identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Working closely with depot teams, operational colleagues, trade union representatives and third-party customers to build strong relationships and deliver shared objectives.
• Managing budgets, stock and equipment to ensure your teams have the right resources at the right time.
• Monitoring performance through audits, inspections and data, using insight to continuously improve standards and colleague engagement.
• Leading accident and incident investigations, ensuring lessons are learned and improvements are embedded.
• Recruiting, coaching and developing colleagues, creating an environment where people feel valued, supported and able to succeed.
• Leading change positively, helping teams embrace new ways of working while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.

No two days are the same. One day you could be reviewing performance data and planning resources, the next you'll be out in the depot supporting your teams through a busy turnaround or working with colleagues to solve an operational challenge.

About you

People leadership, operational thinking and a passion for continuous improvement - that's what you'll bring.

You'll have experience leading operational teams in a customer-focused environment, whether that's rail, transport, facilities management or another similar industry. You're someone who builds trust quickly, brings people together and knows how to balance quality, safety and cost while delivering results.

You'll also have:

• Experience leading teams and achieving results through others.
• A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to motivate, coach and support colleagues through change.
• Good working knowledge of cleaning practices, equipment and materials.
• A sound understanding of health and safety, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and make decisions under pressure.
• Confidence using technology to monitor performance, plan work and communicate effectively.
• A full UK driving licence.

If you've completed IOSH Managing Safely or hold a relevant management qualification, that's great. If not, We'll support you to achieve it.
