Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Train Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards on trains, ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for passengers and staff. This role is essential to the appearance and upkeep of our rail fleet and passenger experience.

You will work 4 nights on, 4 nights off from 21:00 to 06:00, with duties including cleaning inside trains, reporting damages, managing supplies, and following safety and chemical handling procedures. Right to Work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to work night and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks inside trains including sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming to maintain a tidy environment.
• Inspect and report any damages, graffiti or vandalism to the appropriate authorities.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies to ensure materials are available for daily tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
• Follow procedures for handling and disposing of cleaning chemicals and materials.

About The Role:

Days of Working: you will be working 4 nights on on 4 nights off 21:00 to 06:00

As Train Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards of trains, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for passengers and staff. This role plays a crucial part in the overall maintenance and appearance of trains, contributing to a positive customer experience.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain a tidy environment inside the train
• Inspect and report any damages, graffiti, or vandalism to the appropriate authorities for prompt resolution.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring that all necessary materials are on hand to perform daily tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
• Follow procedures for handling and disposing of cleaning chemicals and materials.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• You must have Right to Work in the UK
• Previous experience in cleaning would be advantageous.
• You will have strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work night and weekend shifts.

Additional information:

• You will need to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test prior to starting in this role.
• You will also be required to complete a Local Track Safety Awareness (LTSA) training course.
