Trails Maintenance Officer | 9329 | Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2028 | 37 hours per week | £34,434 to £36,363 per annum (Scale H) | Norwich/Holt/Hybrid
Are you looking for a role that takes you out and about across the Norfolk countryside? Are you excited by the opportunity to get hands‑on with the day‑to‑day management of green infrastructure?
The Norfolk Trails are a promoted network of walking, cycling and horse‑riding routes. They provide 1400 miles of long distance linear and shorter circular paths, across all seven districts of Norfolk. Some of our flagship trails include Marriott’s Way, Kett’s Country Trail, Weaver’s Way and the Boudicca Way.
Norfolk Trails are about more than just lines on a map. They provide opportunities for people to get out and about in nature and connect with the world around them. They offer a moment of peace in busy modern lives, the opportunity to leave the car behind and a chance for a free adventure (small or large) with family and friends. Our routes provide traffic‑free connections between rural towns and villages and hold an increasingly important role in supporting nature recovery and tackling the impacts of climate change.
We’re looking for a Norfolk Trails Maintenance Officer to help us maintain the Norfolk Trails network. You will lead on regular monitoring and maintenance of trail conditions. Your role will be a combination of outdoors and office‑based tasks, and will include working with the public, site visits, condition audits, repairing defects, as well as contract management, data collection and reporting.
We offer flexible working patterns and locations, with the opportunity to be based at offices in Norwich or Holt, as well as home working. We want to see our employees thrive – offering training and professional development, creating a positive work environment and a strong team ethic that focuses on delivering a high level of service.
Requirements
The post-holder must hold a full driving licence and be confident and comfortable traveling to locations across Norfolk.
