Job summary

SVC Technical is seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Vehicle Trailer Assembler to join our team near Halstead, Essex. The role involves assembling car transporter trailers, installing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components, and fitting brake systems on new builds.

You will read engineering drawings, use hand tools and workshop equipment, and collaborate in small teams to deliver high-quality trailers. Overtime is available and paid at time and a half.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and assembly skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Competent with hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Fit brake systems and moving vehicle decks to new-build car transporters.
• Use hand and power tools to complete build tasks to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality trailer builds.
• Maintain accuracy, safety and attention to detail at all times.
