Menzies Distribution Solutions Ltd is seeking a Traffic Operator to join our team in Droitwich. The role focuses on arranging timely, cost-efficient deliveries and optimising fleet use while complying with Transport Legislation and Health & Safety.

Key duties include planning deliveries, coordinating with drivers and customers, developing backhaul lanes, and ensuring loads meet safety standards. Strong communication and IT skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan all relevant customer deliveries utilizing the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met.
• Liaise with the Driver regarding delays and possible issues with delivery.
• Liaise with the Customer regarding delays and possible issues with delivery.
• Develop back haul lanes with both Menzies depots and 3rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilization.
• Source local agency drivers as required (in conjunction with PSL) with clear job briefings.
• Source local sub contractors as required.
• Complete a late load report in line with requirements and deadlines.
• Ensure loads meet safety standards.
• Manage Drivers to ensure start times are adhered to.
• Pre-Brief Drivers to ensure instructions understood.
• De-Brief Drivers with documentation checked.
• Manage WTD Compliance.
• Download Driver cards for analysis.
• Comply with Transport legislation to reduce tachograph infringements.
• Conduct regular meetings including probation reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist.
• Communicate routes to liaise with other Menzies Depots.
• Record trailer information on deliveries and stand trailers.
• Administration of run shifts and file/update globally.
• Understand KPI’s for the Department.
• All other transport office duties.

Traffic Operator

Menzies Distribution Solutions are looking for a Traffic Operator to join our team based in Droitwich. The purpose of this role is to arrange the delivery of the customer’s product on time and in full using the most cost effective means possible and best use of available resources, whilst complying with Transport Legislation and Health & Safety.

Maximizing the utilization of the Menzies Fleet through efficient planning of deliveries and collections as well as maximizedutilization of Menzies drivers in line with current driver’s hours and WTD legislation.

The Details

• Salary: £35k Per Annum, £14.96 Per Hour
• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
• Basic 485 Hours Per Week
• Start Time: Variable 18:00
• Length of Shift: Up to 12 hours
• Parking available onsite
• Monthly Pay

Key Duties and Accountabilities (will include but not be limited to)

• Source local sub contractors as and when required.
• Complete a late load report in line with operational requirements and deadlines.
• Ensure loads meet safety standards.
• Manage the Drivers ensuring start times are adhered to
• Pre-Brief Drivers to ensure that they fully understand their instructions.
• De-Brief Drivers upon their return to ensure that all documentation has been completed correctly.
• Manage WTD Compliance
• Download Driver cards for analysis
• Comply with all Transport legislation reducing tachograph infringements to below the company target and adhering to WTD regulations.
• Conduct regular meetings/ reviews including probation assessments and return to work interviews.
• Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist.
• Communicate routes to and liaise with other Menzies Depots
• Record trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers.
• Administration of run shifts (file/ update globally)
• Fully understand agreed KPI’s for Department
• All other transport office related duties
