Job summary

Atkinson Baker Associates are recruiting an experienced Traffic Marshall for an offsite & modular construction project in Bradford. You will manage the safe movement of heavy deliveries, plant machinery, and pedestrians, ensuring site access is secure and compliant with safety regimes.

This temporary 15-month role starts on 21 September 2026. The ideal candidate holds a valid CSCS card and a Traffic Banksman ticket, with proven gate control experience on busy main contractor sites.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS Card required.

• Experience banking vehicles and managing gates on busy main contractor sites.
• Full 5-point PPE and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle management: direct and bank large delivery vehicles, cranes and plant machinery.
• Logistics tracking: manage gatehouse, record deliveries and enforce time slots.
• Pedestrian safety: ensure segregation of pedestrians and site traffic.
• Site security: monitor front gate, sign-in for visitors and PPE compliance.

Traffic Marshall - Offsite & Modular Construction

Rate: £17.50 per hour

Atkinson Baker Associates are currently recruiting an experienced Traffic Marshall on behalf of a pioneering Offsite & Modular Main Contractor.

The Client

Our client is an award-winning leader in modern methods of construction (MMC), renowned for delivering high-quality, fast-track solutions across the UK. They are mobilizing for a major new development in Bradford starting on the 21st of September and require a vigilant Traffic Marshall to safely manage the site's logistics through to project completion in December 2027.

The Role

You will be the first point of contact for the site, taking full responsibility for the safe movement of all plant machinery, heavy deliveries, and pedestrians around a busy, fast-paced modular build.

Your duties will include:

• Vehicle Management: Safely banking and directing large delivery vehicles, cranes, and plant machinery in and out of the site gates.
• Logistics Tracking: Managing the gatehouse, recording all incoming deliveries, and ensuring vehicles only arrive within designated time slots.
• Pedestrian Safety: Ensuring total segregation of pedestrians and site traffic, both on-site and on the adjoining public highways.
• Site Security: Monitoring the front gate, ensuring all visitors sign in and are wearing the correct PPE before entering the site.

Requirements

• Essential: A valid CSCS Card.
• Essential: A valid Traffic Marshall / Traffic Banksman Ticket.
• Experience: Previous experience banking vehicles and managing gates on busy Main Contractor construction sites.
• Safety: Full 5-point PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, steel-toe boots, gloves, and safety glasses) and clear communication skills.
