Job summary

Leicester City Council is seeking a Traffic Management Logistics Operative to support highway construction, maintenance and repair operations. Based at 90 Leycroft Road, you will install and maintain traffic control systems, work with a team, and cover on-call standby duties as needed.

The role requires experience in traffic management, an eye for safety, and good communication. A driving licence is essential, with 37 hours per week and a clear progression path within the Highways Maintenance

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic management operations and on-site highway works.
• Knowledge of temporary traffic management systems and signage.
• Ability to follow instructions, complete timesheets and paperwork.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic management systems to Code of Practice standards.
• Confidently use hand-held tools and drive/maintain vehicles and plant.
• Plan and prioritise work to achieve productivity targets while complying with safety rules.
