Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Trading Underwriter to join our high-performing Underwriting department at ARAG UK. Based in central Bristol, this role offers the chance to work alongside Senior and Assistant Trading Underwriters, with responsibility for managing relationships with business partners and providing a bespoke service.

In this key role, the successful candidate will analyze data sets to review and renew or quote scheme and standalone policies to ensure profitability. They will also be responsible for setting up scheme and standalone business, ensuring policy literature and agreements are in place in line with policies, procedures, and underwriting authorities.

The role involves meeting with business partners to negotiate renewal terms, provide performance updates, and proactively manage their insurance risks. Additionally, the Underwriter will identify underwriting issues impacting business partners and work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve these issues satisfactorily.

This position is ideal for candidates with previous underwriting experience, though insurance or financial services experience is also advantageous. We welcome applications from candidates with less traditional backgrounds, provided they have a professional background. The role requires demonstrated experience in MS Excel for data analysis, an innovative approach, and the ability to develop long-term relationships with business partners. Key skills include:
