Job summary

Aviva plc is seeking an experienced Trading Underwriter to join our team in the South West region. You will service brokers, underwrite new business, renewals, and MTAs, and travel to broker visits as required.

You will be aligned to broker/customer portfolios to grow a profitable commercial book, using data insight to deliver whole customer solutions and strong service. This role requires a background in broking or underwriting and a passion to develop in your career.

Qualifications

• Previous property & liability and/or fleet underwriting experience is essential.
• The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
• Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation.
• Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation.
• Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases.

Trading Underwriter

Salary : £50,000

We are currently looking for an experienced Trading Underwriter to join the Aviva business.

As a Trading Underwriter you will be responsible for servicing brokers, underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs. This role is for someone who comes from a broking or underwriting background and is passionate about developing in their career.

You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business. Partnering with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure we provide whole customer solutions which support these.

This role does require you to go out on broker visits across the South West, so there is a need to be flexible with travel.

A bit about the job

• To be a multiclass underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business
• Great communicator who regularly has meaningful face to face meetings with brokers and/or customers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva their insurer of choice
• Deal end to end with brokers/customers book of business
• Embrace and understand Aviva's regional SME & Mid Market trading strategy
• Be curious to grow understanding of the commercial business

• Salary: £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
