Nord Group is partnered with a privately owned Investment Bank based in London, who are looking for a Trading Systems Architect to join a multi-year Fidessa migration programme. The project involves revamping a significant part of their equity trading technology stack. This Greenfield initiative includes designing and implementing new trading systems such as risk engines, market/reference data, and trading gateways, while modernizing their proprietary OMS.

Responsibilities:

You will play a key role in developing a next-generation Cash Equity and Electronic Execution Platform. Responsibilities include ensuring high availability for global equity market trading, developing custom trading workflows for diverse client needs across trading desks, and designing scalable systems that respond to market events like interest rate decisions and breaking news. Collaboration with other engineering teams and project members is essential.

Key requirements:

• 7-10 years of experience with expertise in modern software design, architecture patterns, and performance measurement (capacity, throughput, latency).
• Ability to balance commercial understanding with technical knowledge and effective communication with traders and front-office stakeholders.
• Proficiency at a technical architect level, with expert Java skills (high-performance, low-latency, microservices) and experience in real-time trading systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trading systems, including integration with reference and market data systems, particularly within equity trading using OMS or EMS.
• Solid understanding of Fidessa from both functional and technical perspectives.
• Good knowledge of microservice architectures and container technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Ability to test own code thoroughly (automated, unit, UAT, manual), as there is no dedicated QA or testing team.
