Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking an experienced Trading Standards professional to lead inspections, investigations and enforcement across a broad range of functions. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections and lead complex investigations across a range of Trading Standards functions to ensure compliance with legislation, protecting consumers and supporting legitimate businesses.
  • Investigate complaints, gather evidence, and take appropriate enforcement action.
  • Provide expert advice and support to businesses and provide advice through Primary Authority Partnerships, helping businesses achieve and maintain compliance.
  • Lead and deliver projects, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies to achieve shared objectives for consumers, businesses and communities.
  • Support and contribute to preventative initiatives, campaigns and projects that raise awareness, improve compliance and reduce the incidence of consumer detriment.
  • Support, mentor, and develop colleagues, sharing knowledge and promoting high professional standards across the service.

Job description

Annual payment of £3000, paid in equal instalments of £250 over 12 months, due to end on 30th September 2026, pending further review.

To succeed in this role, you must have:
