Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Trading Standards Business Compliance Manager to shape priorities across statutory functions including Food Standards, Licensing and Product Safety. You will lead a small, skilled team to deliver compliant interventions while aligning resources with identified risks.

You will work in a hybrid model, guiding strategic development, ensuring robust enforcement and fostering collaboration with partners and the community.

Qualifications

• Significant knowledge and experience in two or more areas of Trading Standards enforcement.
• Food Standards expertise is preferable given delivery model.
• Experience using a wide range of regulatory and enforcement tools to secure compliance.
• Strong grasp of the law of evidence to ensure investigations are lawful, robust and fair.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of officers delivering statutory Trading Standards functions including Food Standards, Licensing, Animal Health and Welfare, Product Safety, Metrology and more.
• Provide leadership, coaching and professional development; oversee investigations and enforcement actions.
• Represent the service in liaison with councillors, partners and stakeholders and influence priorities and service delivery.
