Job summary

Nuffield Health is seeking a Trading Performance Analyst for Hospitals & Primary Care to deliver actionable insights that improve performance and patient outcomes. The role blends data analysis with strategic business partnering across hospital and primary care services.

You will produce weekly dashboards, translate complex data into concise recommendations, and collaborate with commercial, operational, and finance teams to optimise financial performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Science, Health Informatics, or related field.
• Desirable: studying towards or holding ACCA, CIMA, HFMA, or BCS.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills; proficiency in Excel with advanced functions.
• Experience with data query/reporting tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
• Ability to interpret large datasets and present findings to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; healthcare analytics experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse trading and performance data for hospitals and primary care services (Health Assessments, Physiotherapy).
• Identify over/under-performance and advise on financial risk or opportunity.
• Analyse KPIs such as enquiry conversion, RTTs, outpatient, diagnostics and primary care delivery metrics.
• Produce weekly dashboards and performance packs for operational and executive teams.
• Translate complex datasets into actionable insights using Excel, SQL, Power BI or Tableau for analysis and visualisation.
• Liaise with commercial, operational, finance and marketing teams to explain financial performance.
• Provide analytical input into business cases, service reviews and improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve the financial performance of hospital and primary care services.
