Job summary

UBS in London seeks a Trader Assistant to support the trading desk with trade bookings, reports and client-facing processes, helping maintain accurate deal capture and risk controls.

You will learn how equity markets operate, assist with PnL investigations, data integrity, and collaborate across Finance, Middle Office and Sales to deliver reliable client experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance or equivalent required.
• Prior trading support or equity markets experience preferred.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills essential.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide operations support to the trading desk including trade bookings and report generation.
• Liaise with Finance, Operations, Middle Office, Back Office and Sales to ensure a good client experience.
• Manage trading flow into systems and work on system exceptions with technology.
• Investigate and resolve unexplained PnL and establish strong control around trade capture, risk and PnL.
• Ensure data integrity and assist in managing operations risk for the trading desk.
• Assist in deal capture/amendments and contribute ideas to improve current processes and reduce risk.

• Provide operations support to the trading desk including but not limited to: trade bookings, report generation, liaising with different logistics and control functions such as Finance, Operations, Middle office, Back Office…as well as Sales/Structuring functions to provide a good client experience
• Manage trading flow into relative systems and work with technology on system exceptions
• Work with various functions on investigation and resolution of any unexplained PnL
• Establish a strong control environment around trade capture, risk and PnL
• Ensure data integrity and assist in managing operations risk for the trading desk
• Key deliverables will also include accurate and timely deal capture/amendments; generate value add ideas with regards to improving current processes, support traders in reducing risk and PnL volatility, effective and ongoing liaison with other support areasDegree in Finance or equivalent
• Prior trading support or equity markets experience
• Good understanding of financial markets, instruments and strategies on equity markets and if possible across asset classes
• Highly quantitative and analytical
• Strong coding skills (Python, Jupyter, etc.) and ability to use new AI functionalities
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, and under pressure
• Hard working, dynamic, rigorous and well organised
