Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an engineer/researcher to join the CRB desk within UBS Global Markets.This is a front-office role at the intersection of software engineering, data science, quantitative research, and trading technology. You will work closely with traders, quants, and technology teams to develop and maintain the desk's tooling, analytics platforms, AI capabilities, and systematic infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance front-office applications, automation frameworks, and trading support tools.
  • Build and manage the desk's AI tooling and contribute to the continued development of the desk’s research platform.
  • Apply data science and statistical techniques to improve decision-making, workflow automation, monitoring, and analytics.
  • Design, implement, and maintain production-grade software solutions used by the desk on a daily basis.
  • Work with large datasets to generate insights, improve operational efficiency, and support research initiatives.
  • Develop monitoring, reporting, and operational tooling to support automated trading and market-making systems.
  • Contribute to the reliability, scalability, and performance of the desk's technology stack.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and developers to solve challenging business and technical problems.

As the business continues to evolve, a key focus area is the development and maintenance of the desk's AI capabilities, analytics platforms, and research infrastructure.

Your Skills And Experience
  • You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership and learn quickly.
  • Excellent Python programming skills and the ability to write clean, maintainable, production-quality code.
  • Strong experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience building, deploying, and supporting production software systems, including CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
Desirable
  • Experience with data science, statistical modelling, or large-scale data analysis.
  • Experience developing front-office applications, automation frameworks, or other business-critical software.
  • Experience building AI, machine learning, or LLM-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with financial markets, electronic trading systems, Equities, ETFs, Delta One products, distributed systems, or KDB+/q.
