Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Trade Mark Paralegal to support a growing London trade mark team. You will assist fee-earners across a broad mix of trade mark and wider IP work, both contentious and non-contentious, in a friendly, collaborative and high-performing environment.

Key duties include preparing and filing trade mark applications at the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO; communicating with offices and reporting to clients; managing diaries; compiling evidence for proceedings; and billing for fee-earner

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of trade mark or IP secretary/paralegal experience.
• Working knowledge of trade mark law and practice at UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO.
• Familiar with day-to-day work of a trade mark attorney or lawyer across contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and filing trade mark applications and standard forms at the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO.
• Communicating with trade mark offices and reporting to clients under fee-earner supervision.
• Sending standard reports and correspondence to clients, and managing incoming communications.
• Managing fee-earner diaries and monitoring due dates so that deadlines are met.
• Compiling physical and electronic evidence and bundles for tribunal and court proceedings.
• Maintaining electronic files using the firm's document management system.
• Billing and invoicing for fee-earner work.
• Handling calls on fee-earners' behalf, gathering and passing on information.
