Job summary

Schonfeld is seeking a compliance professional to join the London team in Market Controls & Reporting. You will operate the trade surveillance programme end-to-end, triaging alerts, analyzing potential market abuse, and liaising with multiple stakeholders to ensure robust controls across asset classes.

The role requires 3+ years in trade surveillance, strong regulatory knowledge, and experience with a surveillance platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of trade surveillance experience covering market abuse typologies across assets.
• Strong knowledge of global financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of Equities, Equity Derivatives and Fixed Income products.
• Proven ownership of work beyond alert triage (threshold calibrations, coverage reviews).
• Proficiency with an established trade surveillance platform and the ability to explain alert generation.

Responsibilities

• Operate the trade surveillance programme end to end: triage and disposition alerts across asset classes and document rationale.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on compliance issues related to market manipulation and insider trading.
• Improve the programme: calibrate thresholds, reduce false positives, close coverage gaps.
• Act as the compliance interface to trading and surveillance systems; specify system changes precisely.
• Assist in testing surveillance changes, implementing AI-assisted workflows, and resolving issues.
• Manage stakeholders across Global Markets Compliance, Compliance Tech, Trading and Investments, Operations, Legal.
• Prepare responses to regulatory agencies and exchanges; respond to disclosure requests.
• Operate and review post-trade controls and analyze exceptions for continual improvement.
• Prepare MI reporting and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of monitoring and reporting across large datasets.
• Stay updated on market abuse laws and best practices across market transparency and position reporting.
• Draft, review, and implement compliance policies.
