Job summary

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in the UK is seeking an experienced Risk Underwriter for Trade Credit Insurance to assess and manage credit risk across diverse corporate portfolios, from domestic SMEs to global blue-chips.

You will balance risk with profitable growth, build strong stakeholder relationships, and contribute to underwriting decisions in a hybrid model requiring three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of the Credit Insurance market, preferably within underwriting, broking or a related financial services discipline.
• Experience assessing corporate credit or default risk from banking, credit analysis, lending or financial risk roles.
• Strong financial analysis skills including interpretation of accounts, cash flow, liquidity, leverage and profitability metrics.
• Knowledge of UK and global economic trends and their impact on corporate credit risk.
• Understanding portfolio management, concentration risk, sector exposure and market cycle considerations.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of risks and deliver robust credit risk analysis.
• Assess and respond to credit limit requests with underwriting rationale.
• Analyse financial statements, cash flow, liquidity and leverage to assess creditworthiness.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Balance risk appetite with profitable growth and customer retention.
• Represent the business in broker meetings and industry events.
