Job description

Join us as a Trade and Finance Lawyer where you will support the Trade & Working Capital business across the bank from origination, execution, structuring, and syndication perspectives. The role primarily focuses on trade finance, assisting with regulatory changes and strategic projects.

Key accountabilities:

1. Provide legal advice to international Trade & Working Capital teams, managing legal risks, especially related to trade finance transactions and structures.
2. Advise on a variety of trade and working capital products, including trade loans, export credit financings, letters of credit, promissory notes, bank trade finance, multi-layer debt financings, bonds, guarantees, indemnities, and ESG products. Occasionally advise on invoice discounting and asset-based lending.
3. Review and negotiate transaction documentation.

Key skills required:

1. English law qualified Solicitor with strong knowledge of banking/finance law.
2. Experience in a law firm or in-house at a reputable bank focusing on finance transactions.
3. Proven track record in banking, structured transactions, and cross-border deals.
4. Ability to learn new legal areas independently.
5. Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
6. Project coordination abilities.
