Job summary

Stantec in the United Kingdom is seeking experienced Town Planners to join our growing Planning teams across multiple locations. Roles range from Planner to Director level, offering opportunities to shape places and communities and develop through an established multidisciplinary environment.

We value Chartered MRTPI status or progress towards chartership, strong planning experience across sectors, and the ability to manage client relationships and project teams.

Qualifications

• Chartered MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
• Proven planning experience within consultancy, private sector or public sector.
• Experience preparing, submitting and negotiating planning applications.
• Experience in residential, mixed-use, strategic, commercial and/or energy projects.
• Ability to coordinate internal and external project teams and deliver high-quality projects.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships with commercially focused advice.
• Senior roles: experience with planning appeals and informal hearings is advantageous.
• Local knowledge of the region is beneficial; relocators welcome.

About You

We're looking for passionate and commercially aware Town Planners who want to make a positive impact through their work and develop their careers within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

You’ll Have Experience In Some Of The Following Areas

• Chartered MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
• Proven planning experience within a consultancy, private sector or public sector environment.
• Preparing, submitting and negotiating planning applications across a variety of scales and project types.
• Experience across residential, mixed-use, strategic, commercial and/or energy projects.
• Coordinating internal and external project teams and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships and providing commercially focused planning advice.
• For more senior roles, experience of planning appeals and appearing at informal hearings is advantageous.
• Local knowledge and experience of working within the region you’re interested in joining is beneficial, although relocators are very welcome to apply.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous for some roles.
