Our client is looking for an experienced Planner / Senior Planner / Associate who has ambitions to be part of an established and exciting, innovative, and growing independent planning consultancy.

Key Information:

Suitable candidates would be a Chartered Town Planner, Senior Planner, or Associate Planner. Experience in a Town Planning-related role is essential – consultancy experience would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have experience of preparing and managing large-scale residential planning applications and managing multidisciplinary teams of technical consultants. The Opportunity:

This is a unique opportunity to join an independent planning consultancy with a team of ambitious and driven individuals who have the skills and aspirations to mentor and develop planners. The role will include the following responsibilities:

1. Undertaking site appraisals and providing planning advice to clients.
2. Preparing Supporting Planning Statements, other supporting documents, and representations to Local Plan consultations.
3. Project managing technical consultant teams and developing skills in time management, financial management, and invoicing.
4. Coordinating the submission of a full range of planning applications including full, outline, hybrid, Section 73, Section 96A, and discharge of conditions.
5. Communicating with other planning professionals, clients, Local Planning Authorities, and technical consultants via telephone, emails, and meetings.
6. Organising and managing community consultations, including stakeholder mapping, organising public exhibitions and meetings with key stakeholders, preparing consultation materials, attending consultation events, analysing feedback, and preparing Statements of Community Involvement reports.
7. Supporting senior staff with Planning Appeals, including drafting Appeal Statements and Documents, attending Appeal Hearings/Inquiries, and submitting relevant documentation to the Planning Inspectorate.

Additionally, the role involves developing business skills and client care, including attending networking events and functions and building relationships with other property professionals.
