Town Planner – Renewable Energy

Penguin Recruitment is pleased to present a fantastic opportunity for a Town Planner looking to move into the renewable sector!

We are seeking applications from commercially aware, driven Planners to secure new planning permissions for activities on existing sites and new development projects.

Role Responsibilities:

• Prepare planning applications for various developments on existing sites, minimizing onerous planning conditions and agreements where possible.
• Build relationships and negotiate with stakeholders involved in the planning process, including Local Planning Authorities, Council Members, and Statutory Consultees.
• Provide planning advice to internal stakeholders such as site managers and the commercial team regarding existing sites.
• Support the Principal Planner in advising on planning aspects of new development projects.
• Monitor third-party proposals and applications, providing impact assessments relevant to the business.
• Stay informed on local development plans and identify key engagement opportunities.

Candidate Requirements:

• Post-qualification professional planning experience, ideally in Waste, Anaerobic Digestion, or Renewable Energy sectors, or a strong interest in renewables.
• MRTPI membership or eligibility for full chartership.
• Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
