An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join a growing independent planning and development consultancy.

The Role

As a Town Planner / Senior Town Planner, you will work on a varied portfolio of projects and play an important role in providing commercially focused planning advice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing planning projects from inception through to determination
• Preparing and coordinating planning applications, planning appraisals and supporting documents
• Providing planning and development advice to private and public-sector clients
• Undertaking planning policy research and assessing development opportunities
• Working closely with architects, developers, landowners and wider consultant teams

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded Town Planner or Senior Town Planner with strong UK planning experience and a genuine interest in development.

You will ideally have:

• Relevant experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
• A good understanding of the UK planning system
• Experience working on planning applications and development projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The confidence to engage with clients, consultants and planning officers
• The ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of projects
• A pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to planning
• MRTPI or working towards chartership would be advantageous

For a Senior Town Planner, experience managing projects and developing client relationships would be particularly beneficial.
