Job Opportunity: Planning and Environment Specialist

Due to our continued success, we are looking to grow the Planning team and are open to various levels of experience, ideally between 2-7 years. We offer hybrid and flexible working in friendly environments, considering part-time applicants. While our priority is our Stoke office, we are also open to considering other locations including Bolton, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, London, Truro, and Edinburgh. Our well-established Planning and Environment Team operates across the country, handling a diverse range of projects including renewable energy, waste, industrial, commercial, and major infrastructure. We have an exciting pipeline of projects, particularly in renewable energy sectors such as solar, battery, and wind technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing advice and guidance on planning and environmental matters to clients including renewable energy developers, utility and infrastructure companies, waste management operators, house builders, land promoters, investment institutions, and others throughout all planning stages.
• Shaping and assessing development project cases, including determining planning strategies.
• Managing pre-application consultations, preparing planning applications, and handling appeals.
• Coordinating planning project management, including liaising with in-house and external technical teams.
• Engaging in community consultations.
• Preparing proposals and participating in business development activities.
• Liaising with external parties such as developers, landowners, architects, engineers, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Supervising team members and providing expert advice.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a relevant degree, with a strong track record in medium to large-scale planning projects. They should demonstrate high technical competency, excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. The role requires managing multiple projects within tight deadlines and effective problem-solving abilities.
