Position Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Planning Team in Chester, managing a diverse portfolio of projects such as rural diversification schemes and bespoke residential developments. The role involves managing your own caseload, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to business development and high-quality planning consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage your own caseload of planning projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
2. Prepare initial site reviews and site-specific strategies.
3. Submit and manage planning applications, including supporting reports.
4. Provide bespoke advice to clients for their planning needs.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and external professionals.
6. Lead project meetings with clients, Planning Officers, Councillors, and statutory bodies to achieve optimal outcomes.
7. Negotiate effectively for the best results for clients.
8. Manage project budgets, time recording, and invoicing.
9. Support and mentor team members, sharing knowledge and collaborating on projects.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Ideally MRTPI qualified or close to submission (Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivation and ability to manage workload and priorities.
• Strong team player with a collaborative approach.
• Proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent time and work management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Good understanding of the planning market and relevant legislation.
