Opportunity for an experienced planner to join an ambitious and sustainable housebuilder in their Exeter office. This housebuilder is committed to environmental responsibility and the construction of high-quality homes that promote sustainability and prioritize customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Planner, ideally with MRTPI chartered status and substantial experience managing residential planning applications. In this role, you will lead the planning team and oversee the entire planning process.

The role:

• Progress and manage the planning process directly or via consultants
• Provide Town Planning advice and coordinate with the land, technical, and design teams to assist with land purchase and planning matters
• Deliver profitable development opportunities
• Oversee and manage the project planning team
• Coordinate and manage external consultants
• Consider all planning issues related to the land
• Investigate and assess all planning matters and risks
• Coordinate and manage public exhibitions and presentations
• Attend meetings with local authorities and represent the company at planning committees
• Attend site meetings
• Prepare project development assessments

The Candidate:

• Member of the RTPI or degree in Town & Country Planning; MRTPI chartership is desirable
• Excellent knowledge of local authority policy requirements
• Good relationships with local authorities and planning consultants
• Able to work collaboratively as part of the project team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• UK-based experience is essential
