The Role

We are seeking experienced and qualified Civils Operative Team Leaders to join our Town Build Team. Applicants should have relevant experience in excavations, repairs, and reinstatements of draw rope on telecom infrastructure, as well as installing ducting, chambers, and street cabinets.

The successful candidate must possess the necessary tickets and qualifications, including a valid SWQR card with units 1-4, excavator tickets, SA001, SA002, NRWSA sign, and light & guarding certification. A NRSWA supervisor qualification and other civil or Openreach accreditations are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead our Town Build Gangs under the supervision of the Town Build Supervisor/Foreman
• Install and repair network ducting for customer connections
• Clear highway blockages and reinstate to industry standards
• Operate equipment such as Stihl saws, wacker plates, and trench compactors with proper certification
• Install draw ropes and drop cables at customer connection points post-duct installation or repair
• Complete daily paperwork including risk assessments and plant sheets
• Maintain respectful and supportive interactions with internal and external customers
• Ensure compliance with client procedures and manage company assets responsibly

Requirements

• Knowledge of sign/lighting and guarding (NRWSA)
• SA001 & SA002 certifications
• 360 Excavator tickets
• Experience with Cat and Genny equipment
• Orotates Ticketing
• Streetwork experience and tickets
• Experience installing ducting and chambers
• Risk assessment and health & safety awareness
• Experience in telecommunications operations or engineering
• Industry-recognized street works qualifications
• Additional advantageous skills: Vitruvi, First Aid, Abrasive wheels
• Full UK driving license

Salary: £38,200 - £39,200 per annum, depending on experience (based on 40 hours/week, with additional hours at agreed rates and overtime for weekends).

Location: Field Based, near Blandford Forum, Dorset
