TOPSHOP and TOPMAN are iconic British fashion brands with 60 years of heritage. Headquartered in London, the brands have over 2 million customers worldwide through the ASOS platform and generate brand sales of approximately £200 million. Our mission is to unlock the best of fashion for everyone, with creativity and innovation at our core.

Following the formation of a joint venture between ASOS and HEARTLAND in October 2024, ASOS is creating a standalone, cross-functional team dedicated to unlocking the growth potential of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands. These brands will benefit from ASOS infrastructure and resources while maintaining creative freedom and agility.

In the next 12 months, TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will expand their offline and online retail presence with the launch of Topshop.com and new wholesale partnerships.

Job Description

What you'll be doing...

  1. Delivering planned sales and profitability through effective planning and in-season trading.
  2. Analyzing department performance regularly to maximize commercial opportunities.
  3. Collaborating with your Buyer to ensure a commercial range that aligns with brand and department strategies, considering OTB, options, price, ALB, and global requirements.
  4. Managing stock intake and OTB through strategic planning and trading to meet business needs.
  5. Building strong relationships with suppliers.
  6. Providing data analysis and insights to support decision-making and gain buy-in.
  7. Communicating key messages and forecast movements to suppliers and brands.
  8. Innovating solutions within production planning and critical path management in collaboration with the supply base.
  9. Maximizing intake and profit margin opportunities.
  10. Developing short-term and long-term department strategies with the Buyer to maximize profit.
  11. Adjusting department strategies in season based on trade performance.
  12. Resolving issues collaboratively with Buying and relevant teams.
  13. Regularly reviewing KPIs to ensure realistic targets and communicating changes.
  14. Sharing opportunities and risks across departments to influence global strategy and performance.
  15. Improving ways of working and system use for more effective global trading, sharing knowledge with the team.
  16. Managing and developing a high-performing team of Assistant Managers and Merchandisers through regular feedback, fostering an environment of ideas and suggestions.
