Job summary

Moon Recruitment is seeking an experienced Topographical Surveyor to join our field team in Stevenage, with opportunities in other locations.

You will conduct topographical and measured building surveys, collect field data, and produce accurate CAD drawings, while ensuring QA/QC and mentoring junior colleagues in a varied project environment.

Travel across sites and outdoor work in all weather is required, with a full UK driving licence and a proactive, professional approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Topographical Surveyor.
• Experience with topographical surveys and field data collection.
• Ability to produce CAD drawings from survey data.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

WE'RE HIRING: TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEYOR

Location: Stevenage - Also looking in various other locations

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Vehicle + Benefits

Are you an experienced Topographical Surveyor looking for your next opportunity?

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Topographical Surveyor to join our growing survey team, working across a diverse range of projects and sectors.

You'll work alongside Surveying Managers and Project Managers to plan and deliver accurate, high-quality topographical surveys, from initial site observations through to data processing and CAD production.

What you'll be doing

• Undertaking topographical and measured building surveys
• Carrying out detailed site observations, measurements and data collection
• Using Total Station and GPS/GNSS surveying equipment
• Setting out survey control and establishing site coordinates
• Collecting accurate field data and ensuring survey information is complete
• Processing and checking survey data
• Producing 2D CAD drawings from survey data
• Assisting with the preparation of survey reports and deliverables
• Identifying and resolving technical issues encountered on site
• Maintaining and managing survey equipment
• Ensuring QA/QC procedures are followed across all survey work
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced members of the survey team
• Contributing to the continued development of the survey department

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Topographical Surveyor
• Strong practical experience carrying out topographical surveys
• Confident using Total Station and GNSS/GPS equipment
• Experience processing survey data and producing CAD drawings
• Good understanding of survey control, coordinates and site measurement
• A surveying-related qualification would be advantageous
• Experience with utility surveying or GPR would be beneficial, but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong communication skills and a professional, proactive approach
